Madagascar Direct Seeding

Semis Direct de Madagascar (SD Mad) is a limited company created in 2004 originally to produce seeds of multipurpose rice, maize, cover crops and other plant material necessary for the dissemination of agro-ecology in Madagascar. Seed production remains one of SD Mad's activities.

But the main activity of SD Mad very quickly became the advice and supervision of farms, within the framework of various programs (Watersheds Irrigated Perimeters South-East High Plateaux, Watersheds of Lake Alaotra, Support Project for the Improvement of Agricultural Productivity in Madagascar (PAPAM) who have ensured for 14 years the dissemination of agro-ecology in Madagascar.

SD Mad also provides advice to associations of water users of hydro-agricultural perimeters, and carries out development studies as well as the control and monitoring of the corresponding works.
